The Village

Manoj N Shyamalans latest flick. I have seen it and I came out satisfied! So now I have decided to write a critique. But you find better ones elsewhere. So let me limit you two of my own observations.

1)The scene in which Lucius Hunt (Joaquin Phoenix) tells Noah Percy (Adrien Brody) "...there are different types of love..." and Noah pokes him with a knife.... Noah is also trying to tell the same thing to Lucius... in a different way... because his love is different!

2)When the Nature reseve patrol guy goes to his office and speeks to the guard at desk... we all know that the guy is Shyamalan... now Shyamalan is reading a newspaper(obviously!) and the paper is full of war news!! A clue to what is on the directors mind... and support to the theory that it is an allegory about post 9/11 US fear pshche. And now here is the conclusion... "The Village" is not a horror movie of the scale it has been hyped.... it should have been publicised as a love story rather!! and dont expect Shyamalan trademark endings or twists!!! there are none... It is just a good movie worth watching.

Now before I say good bye.... let me spill a few beans...

"that which I did not talk about" in my previous blog(in para 1).... I would blame lack of focus, commitment, compulsion and motivation apart from egos for the state of affairs in "that which I did not talk about"...

and about the pathetic performance of India in Olympics(or any other major sports meet... even cricket for that matter)... the whole system for promotion of sports is corrupt and beyond repair... it has to be rebuilt from the scratch.. and as I see it.. "there is no hope"... but as optimists lets hope against all odds that some miracle will happen and the system will be shutdown, the hardware upgraded, sofware debugged and antivirus and firewall installed before before the new system is put in place....

Thatz all for now.. and goodbye...
ps:- I got a job in Veritas.... waiting get on board!!...
